Carlisle, AR - On Oct. 12, about 5 a.m., the Sheriff's office received a report of a burglar alarm at a church and Deputy David Houser responded to the alarm. As Houser arrived on-scene, he saw a black PT Cruiser, with lights off, parked by the church. As Houser approached the vehicle, the driver of the PT Cruiser drove toward the deputy in an apparent attempt to strike him. Houser fired at the vehicle and reported that he believes he struck the windshield. Houser then pursued the suspect vehicle, but lost contact in the area of Cornel Manor. Chicago - When an officer responded to a burglar alarm Oct. 5 at a home he saw that a back door had been forced open and returned to his car to call for backup, police said. That's when a man stuck his head out the front window and shouted, "Help, my house has just been burglarized!" before fleeing out the back door, according to police. After a foot chase involving several officers, Autry Chandler, 19, was caught on the west course at Chicago Heights Country Club and charged with residential burglary, police said. Vancouver, WA (October 16, 2009) - Woodland police say they surprised two burglars inside the high school early today, but the suspects fled before additional officers could arrive to cover all of the doors. The incident began about 2 a.m. when a silent burglar alarm was tripped. When two officers arrived a minute later, they saw two burglars wearing hooded sweatshirts moving around inside the school. Officers are reviewing video from security cameras to see if they can identify the suspects, who may have been in the school for a while before the alarm was tripped.
